Organized by CSI Magazine (Cable and Satellite International), the CSI Awards celebrate excellence and achievement across the broadcast, video, OTT and IoT sectors, and are considered one of the most prestigious and competitive technology awards in the industry.

UVOtv has been recognized for its breakthrough approach to one of streaming’s most stubborn problems: monetizing international live television at scale. Built on Setplex’s Zapflex video platform, UVOtv is the first scaled, free, ad-supported live television service purpose-built for North America’s diaspora communities — serving more than 70 million viewers from Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, South Asia and Eastern Europe.
At the heart of the platform is a proprietary, multimodal AI ad-detection pipeline that solves a problem the industry has never cracked at this scale: automatically identifying and monetizing ad breaks across hundreds of international live channels that lack SCTE-35 markers, without any channel-by-channel configuration or retraining. The system runs at 98% accuracy with sub-500ms inference and less than 10% additional compute overhead, enabling real-time, broadcast-quality server-side ad insertion across a library of more than 700 live channels.
Since launching in August 2025, UVOtv has grown to more than 1.5 million monthly active viewers across the United States and Canada, with 97% of all viewing happening live — turning a market long dominated by piracy and fragmentation into a legitimate, scalable, and profitable streaming ecosystem for broadcasters and advertisers alike.
