Challenge
Brazil is home to hundreds of regional ISPs, all eager to offer IPTV services alongside broadband—but most lack the infrastructure, licensing, or scale to deliver secure IPTV on their own.
Key challenges included:
- Content Licensing: Managing rights and permissions across LATAM channels.
- Content Security: Ensuring all channels are encrypted with DRM.
- Scalability: Supporting hundreds of ISPs and hundreds of thousands of subscribers.
- Operational Complexity: Creating and managing subscriber accounts, integrating with ISP billing systems, and maintaining a localized user experience—without letting one ISP access another’s data.
SATTV needed a multi-tenant platform that could act as a centralized engine for ISP-managed IPTV delivery—secure, robust, and fully customizable.
Solution
SATTV and Setplex partnered to deliver a white-labeled, turnkey IPTV platform for Brazil’s ISP market. At the heart of this solution is a multi-tenant middleware that enables SATTV to onboard and manage hundreds of ISPs—each with their own subscriber base, app branding, and CRM integration.
Setplex provided the core IPTV architecture, including:
- Nora Middleware
Centralized control panel for managing content, subscriptions, ISP accounts, billing integrations, and end-user access. Nora allows SATTV to assign administrative access to each ISP in a secure, isolated environment. - NoraGO Applications
SATTV offers a suite of multi-screen apps (white-labeled per ISP) across Android, Android TV, iOS, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Samsung, and LG Smart TVs—giving users access to live TV and VOD on their preferred devices. - Digital Rights Management (DRM)
All video content is encrypted with DRM to protect licensed channels and ensure compliance with content owners.
Together, these components created a unified platform that supports localized user interfaces, subscriber management per ISP, and multi-device streaming—without compromising security or scalability.
Successes
The SATTV + Setplex platform has quickly become a go-to IPTV solution for regional ISPs in Brazil, offering premium channels, support for content encryption, and seamless streaming to thousands of end-users. Key results include:
- Fully multi-tenant IPTV deployment — managing multiple ISP customers independently
- Seamless integration with ISP CRMs — enabling unified billing and customer support
- Encrypted content delivery — with built-in DRM capability to protect all LATAM channels as well as VOD content
- Scalable growth model — enabling rapid expansion from initial pilots to widespread adoption by ISPs and allowing independent management of hundreds of thousands of active subscribers
This project has positioned SATTV as a key enabler of IPTV across Brazil’s fragmented ISP landscape—offering smaller providers the ability to compete with national carriers, without the overhead of building and maintaining their own IPTV infrastructure.
